Topic: BLACKBERRY TIPS

If you don't already know, to access and use certain Blackberry features a minimum version of Blackberry software is required and your Blackberry must have the benefit of both a voice and data service plan. Knowing this will help you breeze through correcting actual Blackberry issues, and what are perceived as Blackberry issues. There are a lot of reasons your Blackberry may not allow you to send email or browse the web.
Here's a couple of tips you might find helpful. On the status bar of your Blackberry check your Blackberry's signal and battery strength. If battery is low, charge your Blackberry. If battery is full and you are still having this problem, check the network connection. Is "EDGE" (GPRS, NXTL, 1XRTT, EVDO, or similar) displayed in upper case letters or lower case letters. The casing of these markers will make a difference. If these markers are in lower case letters it means you've lost data connection. If these letters are upper case letters and the problem persists do the following.
Sign onto your home computer, borrow a friend's PC, or use your local library's. Log on to your network provider's web site. Locate the link or button on their site which reads send service books. In theory, this should fix your email and web browsing problem. It may also be possible to bypass your home computer and do it directly from your Blackberry. Try doing the following:
- Step 1: On your Blackberry's home screen click menu key.
- Step 2: Select the option setup internet email.
- Step 3: Create an account and password if this is the first time you're setting up an internet email account on your Blackberry.
- Step 4: If you already created an account. Simply log in. Roll the trackball down to settings and select the option service books.
- Step 5: An option will appear on your screen which reads send all. Click on your trackball to select the send all option.
- Step 6: Voila! Your connectivity should be re-established.
- Step 7: Using your trackball click ok. Then hit the escape key on your Blackberry. That should do it.
